3 John 1:2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good
health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul

Isaiah 40:29-31  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Col 1:29 To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy  which so powerfully works in me.

2 Chronicles 16:9: For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.
 

a) Freedom from discouragement
 

Psalm 42:5  Why are you downcast O my soul? Why so disturbed within me?  Put your hope in God for I will yet praise him my Savior and my God.
 

1 Thess 5:16 Be joyful always.
 

b) That he would be given victory over temptation.

Matthew 6:13 "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."

1 Cor 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, So that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
 

1 John 5:18b the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.

"The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." 1 John 4:4
