Praying for your Pastor
A Weekly Guide
Wednesday: His Leadership, Guidance
and Direction.
1) That he would boldly and
courageously lead our congregation in pursuit of the Lord's vision.
Joshua 1:7-9 Be strong and very courageous.
Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from
it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you
go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth meditate on
it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in
it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous, Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for
the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
2 Chron 20:15-17 He said: "Listen, King
Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD
says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army.
For the battle is not yours, but God's. Tomorrow march down against them.
They will be climbing up by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at
the end of the gorge in the Desert of Jeruel. You will not have to fight
this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance
the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not
be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with
you."
2) That he would be sensitive
to the Lord's guidance and direction.
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach
you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right
or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is
the way; walk in it.
Isaiah 48:17 This is what the LORD says--your
Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches
you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go."
3) That he would always seek
the Lord and ask for His Wisdom.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom,
he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and
it will be given to him.
4) That he would have pure motives
and walk in humility.
Phil 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition
or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than
yourselves. Each of you should look not
only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the
Lord, and he will lift you up.
5) That he would be an example
that brings glory to the Lord.
1 Tim 4:12 Don't let anyone look down
on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech,
in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
