"Y2K RUOK?" is the new hot best-seller
from St. Theodore's Basilica Press. Roy Syverson, Crisis Management
Specialist has bridged the Y2K Crisis phenomenon with a self-help approach
reminiscent of the "I'm OK You're OK" movement of days gone by.
Syverson has unusual insight on these Y2K
issues as he has been living through the Y2K crisis for several decades
now. Those who have taken the week long "Hard TImes Farms Crisis
Management Seminar" also known as "Barn Cleaning 101", are familiar with
the "disaster-like conditions" that are a regular part of the Hard Times
Farms experience.
We asked Syverson for his predictions on
the Y2K crisis, "Well, ya know, it might get bad some places, but it's
not likely to get any worse here than it's been for a long, long time."
We then asked what he would be doing on New Years Eve. He replied, "well
I'll be filling in on Tuba with Enoch Fakudze and the Six Fat Dutchman
on the Channel 12 Band Wagon Marathon Extravaganza that's planned for the
eve of the New Millenium. It's going to be quite an event, doncha
know?"
In the book, Syverson suggests that we
should be prepared for the worst and should stock up at least 30 years
worth of supplies, maybe 40: "I've been living in the Y2K crisis now since
the early sixties...and I don't see an end in sight. I'd say it's
best to prepare for at least 30 years...maybe more."
There are many different opinions on how
severe the Crisis could be, but noone predicts more gloom and doom than
Roy Syverson in this book. The only solution is to form "Y2K R U
OK?" Support Groups in every neighborhood worldwide. Roy explains,
"We can come together and support each other and then maybe, just maybe,
we'll be OK. OK?"
