Science Fiction fans everywhere are cheering
the recent finding of the long lost Godzilla Movie, "Cowboy Roy and the
Mutant Crawfish Vs. Godzilla". The film was never officially released
after the mediocre reception of Godzilla vs. Mega-rabbit. Like "Mega-rabbit",
this movie was directed by Roy Syverson based on his own screenplay.
He also played the part of Cowboy Roy in this feature film. Though
the film was never released by the studio, a copy of the film was recently
recovered and is being restored for video release for the upcoming Christmas
season.
Reportedly, the film centered around Cowboy
Roy, a singing cowboy from Lousiana who rides a large mutant Crawfish and
cooks cajun food. Godzilla comes to America and brings great devastation.
But is stopped in his tracks as Cowboy Roy rides into the scene on his
Giant Crawfish playing Jingle Bells on the Tuba. The unusual sight
and sounds confuse Godzilla and instead of breathing fire toward Cowboy
Roy...he gasps and inhales his own fire...giving himself incredible heartburn.
To make matters worse, he inhaled with such intensity that he sucked up
a pot of Roy's special Spicy Gumbo D'Okra that had been hidden in his saddlebags.
I don't want to give away the ending, but let it be known that you will
be amazed... amazed that anyone could have wasted their time on this movie.
Yet, for true Godzilla fans, this will
be a must see. It will be good for Christmas gift-giving.
This ill-fated Godzilla movie was the last
movie in Roy Syverson's movie career. The disappointment he experienced
led him to leave behind his Cowboy songs and pick up his tuba and write
his now famous "Doncha Know" songs. It was following this incident
that Syverson began living in the Y2K crisis and developed the hard times
farms philosophy.
Perhaps the release of this Godzilla classic
will bring Syverson the notoriety he once sought in his movie career.
Then again.....
